Hey Stephen, looks great! Wish you would come back to Market Square. It’s been so very busy these past few years. We have no pottery there anymore. Have a great show. Tom.

A couple smaller items. Not everything can be, or needs to be a gigantic art "statement." Sometimes, at the end of a throwing run, there is a little bit of clay left for whatever, like maybe a small yellow jug. Or maybe that last mug, you just want to doodle...

Love them!!

Some of my favorite pieces of yours are flasks. Small can add a punch and make a statement.

Both are stunning small statements!!!

Really love that “last mug” and am curious as to its approximate capacity, guessing 8oz +-? And while talking fluid capacity, what do your beautiful teapots hold? Guessing about 24oz. 🤷‍♂️

Sometimes a "statement" can be made in a whisper. Or a small bit of clay looking for a purpose.

In any event, I suppose I’m just feeling the spirit of the season… Years ago I apprenticed to a potter who had a gigantic, 65 foot long, five chamber “tepugama,” or “split bamboo,” style wood burning kiln (which […]
  • Mega City
We’ll get to the pottery in a moment. First, some observations about the pre-history of Ukraine’s Black Sea region and it’s rich flood plains. This time and place is usually described in terms of aristocratic tribes, lavish tombs, and lots of bloodshed. In the 1970’s, Soviet archeologists looked deeper. They found several so-called “mega-cities” dating […]
